We wire-wrapped every Czech glass bead of the Saint Maximilian Kolbe chaplet for durability and a comfortable space as you pray. The red beads represent his martyrdom, while the clear one represents his purity. It can be a novena prayer, leading up to his feast day on August 14, or anytime.
The Martyr of Charity
St. Maximillian Kolbe, a Franciscan priest, was known for his total consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He was a prisoner at the Auschwitz concentration camp and offered his life to save Francis Gajowniczek, a married man with young children. Later honoured by Pope John Paul II as the “Patron of our Difficult Century,” St. Maximillian is the patron saint of families, the Pro-Life Movement, prisoners, and those suffering from drug addiction.
