Our Burgundy Medium Rope Rosary has knots in the place of beads. It is the same length as our other Rope Rosaries but with smaller knots. It takes less room in a hand or pocket and still has enough space to hold onto the knotted beads for prayer comfort.
They are metal-free, which has several advantages.
- They are quiet for praying as you fall asleep or while you rock a baby.
- These rosaries can go with patients into an MRI machine.
- They are low-cost.
We heat-seal the cut ends to prevent fraying. It looks like a darker, melted section.
The rosary length varies a little each time we make it.
We will be using the last of our original quality twine to make these rosaries. Once it is gone, we will have to start using the newer type of cord. You can read more in the article further down this page.

About Knotted Rope Rosaries
Knot Quality
The integrity of the knots is an essential component for the structure of a knotted rosary. In time, a loose knot will not stay in place. They should look like a neat, tight stack of looped twine. The ends are heat-sealed to prevent fraying. It looks like a darker, melted section.
Sea King Twine
Whenever possible, we use #36 Sea-King nylon fishing net twine, which has an incredible 300-pound breaking strength. Our #9 twine has an 84-pound resistance. Other craft cords may catch and fray.
Limited Stock
When we first started making these rosaries, we bought our twine from a factory that is now closed. They dyed the individual strands before winding them together. The result is a rosary with a solid colour.
Now, factories wind white lengths of cord and dye them after. It still looks beautiful on the spools. But once we twist it into knots, the white core shows through, looking like random white sections.
Our Decision
Since we have a stash of high-quality twine in stock, we will be selling rosaries made with those first. Once we use up our inventory, we will be using other brands of cord.
