Psalm 42:2 (Thirsting for God)
Psalm 42:2
What does Psalm 42:2 tell us about our hearts learning to thirst for God?
Thirsting for God
My soul THIRSTS for God.
Psalm 42:2
When we are physically thirsty, water is more important than everything else. We know from experience that it will quench our longing.
Spiritual thirst does the same thing to our hearts. We can feel parched inside, disconnected, unfulfilled, unsteady, and empty. When we are aware of God’s presence, our experience of prayer deepens. We can discover what it means to welcome the warmth of His love and the strength of His grace. Our hearts learn to thirst for God.
Water helps our bodies when we are thirsty. God fills us when our hearts are longing. (November 14, 2020)
