DESIGNED TO PROTECT YOUR ROSARY
Our Charcoal Grey Leather Rosary Case will treat your rosary well. It will protect it from getting tangled, tarnished, or lost. I usually pull the flap down snugly once my rosary is inside.
From the design table, we learned that a flap does not put pressure against a rosary or wear out like snaps, buttons, and zippers. We hand-stitched it with heavy-duty polyester thread and used a conditioner (Leather Honey) to moisturize and protect the leather .
THE FIT & THE LOOK
The first photo shows what it will look like with a 6mm-bead rosary inside. These rosaries usually measure about 20″ (51cm) or up to 25″ (64cm) (wire-wrapped).

Our leather cases are all limited stock. If the one you like is no longer in stock, we can make a similar one.
ECO-Friendly
We make our rosary cases with leather remnants from a small upholstery company. They helped us with the details of the final design.
This decision has a few advantages. First, it allows us to have a variety on hand while keeping our costs down. It also helps the environment. The downside is that we have a limited selection of leather.
How We Make Them
Saddle Stitching
We saddle-stitch our leather rosary cases in the tradition of artisan design. This technique dates back as early as the 4th Century.
We weave the thread through each side of the leather by hand with thick, lightly waxed polyester thread. This type of thread is durable with excellent UV, mildew, and moisture resistance.
Machine-Stitching versus Saddle-Stitching
The difference between machine-stitching and hand-stitching is the way it connects the pieces of leather.
- A sewing machine uses two threads. The top thread connects to the bottom one with a series of loops. The entire line of sewing could unravel with a broken stitch.
- Saddle stitching is more reliable. It uses one heavy-duty thread woven by hand through both sides of the leather. A damaged thread will not cause the rosary case to come apart. This type of stitching is well-suited to our rosary cases because it will stand up to daily use.
How to Care for Leather
Leather is water-resistant, breathable, and becomes softer and more flexible as it ages. It is durable and can last decades with proper care. Conditioner will moisturize and protect it.
At first, the conditioner will make the leather look wet and shiny, like in the photo. After overnight drying, it will look soft and supple.
