How to Start a Routine of Praying the Rosary
Start With a Prayer
Begin with a prayer to ask for the grace to get started. It will help prepare our hearts to be open to the spiritual journey as it unfolds. The purpose of this prayer is the journey of the heart. It is not a matter of rushing through the prayers to get them all done.
Manage Distractions
Choose a time and place to pray that works for you. It is easy to have distractions during this prayer. Instead of feeling disappointed, we can make an effort to stop and refocus our attention. It also helps to say a quick prayer, asking for the grace to focus.
Remember It Takes Time
We need to remember to be as gentle and patient with ourselves as God is with us. It will take time to establish a routine of praying the rosary, but it will be well worth the effort. We can find a deep inner calm as we make this journey of the heart.
