Psalm 46:10

open Bible

When we reflect on Psalm 46:10, we are reminded of the importance of inner quiet when we pray so that we focus on God, not ourselves.

Genuine Prayer

When we reflect on Psalm 46:10, we are reminded of the importance of inner quiet when we pray so that we focus on God, not ourselves.

Be still and know that I am God.

Psalm 46:10

When we pray, we bring our concerns and the day’s busy activities with us. What we do next will make our time of prayer meaningful or not. We can begin by asking God to quiet our minds and hearts. Then, we can focus on God, not ourselves. Genuine prayer is resting in God’s presence.

Psalm 46:10 reminds us of Who we are praying to and the importance of quieting our minds for genuine prayer. (September 4, 2023)

Photos

A beautifully photographed sky by Donald Tong inspired the website’s colour scheme. Cropped portions of it are the background for the footer Bible verse. He shared it as a free download on pexels.com.

We chose our own photo taken from an airplane window.  Praying the rosary with that view was unforgettable.

For those interested in using the Bible image, we are sharing it as a free, public-domain image.  To download the full size, we linked it here: Cathopic is an online source for free Catholic images.  Once you create an account with them, you can use their photos (no credit needed) as part of a free trial.  There are only a few restrictions, outlined in their Terms of Use.
