More Details

We built the Rugged Sacred Heart Rosary to last. It has heavy-duty wire and chain. Since the wire is a lot stiffer to work with, we can only make one per month. Wire-wrapping adds even more strength to the rosary. It also adds extra space between the beads.

Hematite beads will slowly warm up when in contact with warm hands. As you pray with them, you will feel their warmth.

What is Hematite?

Today’s hematite rosaries use a machine-made version of the stone.  It looks and feels similar.  It is also iron-grey, metallic-based, and heavy.

Tip

TIP: Wire-wrapped rosaries will not come unhooked.  The design will sometimes result in a temporary kink.  There are two ways to resolve it: a gentle shake; or lifting and turning the section by hand.

Handmade Catholic items by Our Lady of Grace Rosaries are designed to be cherished and built to endure.

About Hematite

Natural Hematite

Natural hematite is rare and very expensive. It contains ferric oxide, calcium, and manganese. It is not only on earth but on the planet Mars as well.

What We Use

Today’s hematite rosaries use a machine-made version of this stone. It looks and feels similar. It is also iron-grey, metallic-based, and heavy.

Warmth

The temperature of the beads will slowly warm up when in contact with warm hands. As you pray with them, you will feel their warmth.

A beautifully photographed sky by Donald Tong inspired the website’s colour scheme. Cropped portions of it are the background for the footer Bible verse. He shared it as a free download on pexels.com.

Raphael painted The Sistine Madonna circa (1513-1514). We made circular cut-outs from the original image.
