More Details

The Saint Lucy Chaplet prayer card is in large print. The beads are wire-wrapped.  We can ask for her intercession as the patron for those suffering from eye problems. We can pray the devotion on the days leading up to her feast day on December 13th or anytime.

History of the 9-Bead Chaplet

According to The Raccolta: A Manual of Indulgences, the 9-bead chaplet is at least 500 years old. They were likely in use before the late 18th Century. They have 3 groups of 3 beads with a saint medal or Crucifix in a closed loop or stretched out in a strand. At first, only convents and monasteries made them. Over the centuries, they have become more readily available.

Prayers

On the medal or Crucifix, we ask for the intercession of a particular saint. Then, we pray one Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be on each group of beads. There is a partial indulgence when we say the sets of prayers this way.

Handmade Catholic items by Our Lady of Grace Rosaries are designed to be cherished and built to endure.

About Our Handmade Chaplets

Packaging

Each chaplet comes with a sturdy prayer card.  It explains which prayers to say on which beads.

Suggestion

It is a good idea to store your chaplets and prayer cards together.  Since chaplets have unique bead groupings and prayers, the prayer card and chaplet need to stay together so that you can continue to use them.
