Divine Mercy Novena Prayers:

Good Friday until the Eve of Divine Mercy Sunday

For each of the days, Our Lord gave St. Faustina a specific intention.  We say it before praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet on the beads.

About Divine Mercy Prayers

St. Faustina Kowalska

St. Faustina was a Polish religious sister and mystic. Her confessor and spiritual director was Father Michal Sopocko. He directed her to record her visions and conversations with Jesus in a diary. It is now a published book with the title: The Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska: Divine Mercy in My Soul.

Her Vision of Divine Mercy

She wrote that on the night of Sunday, February 22, 1931, Jesus appeared to her. He was wearing a white garment with white and pale rays emanating from His heart. He asked her to paint an image with the caption: Jesus, I trust in You. (13, 14)

The Painting

St. Faustina commissioned an artist to paint Jesus as she saw Him in her vision of Divine Mercy.

The Chaplet

Jesus revealed The Chaplet of Divine Mercy to St. Faustina as a means to assist the dying.  It can be for those we know or for those we will never meet.

“My daughter, encourage souls to say the chaplet which I have given to you… when they say this chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father and the dying person… as the merciful Saviour.” (Diary, 1541)

The Novena

The Divine Mercy Novena is for 9 days, starting on Good Friday.  Click on the image to learn more.
I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. (Diary, 699)

A beautifully photographed sky by Donald Tong inspired the website’s colour scheme. Cropped portions of it are the background for the footer Bible verse. He shared it as a free download on pexels.com.

Raphael painted The Sistine Madonna circa (1513-1514). We made circular cut-outs from the original image.

The original painting by Kazimirowski in 1934 is the featured image on all our pages for this novena.

Both paintings of St. Faustina are by an unknown artist and are considered public domain by Wikipedia.

The close-up of Jesus was painted in 1934 by Eugenius Kazimirowski based on the request of Saint Faustina and her confessor Michael Sopocko.
