The Devotion
Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alocoque in the 1670s. The visions inspired a devotion to His Sacred Heart. Pope Pius IX added the devotion to the church calendar in 1856. We celebrate it on the third Friday after Pentecost and also in the month of June.
Rosaries
The Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of our most popular rosary themes. The rosary centers often have Our Lady of Mount Carmel on the back which is also known as the Scapular Medal.
Chaplets, Bracelets, Accessories

An unknown artist painted the apparition of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in the 1670s. It is on the wall of Église Saint-Charles-Borromée (Charlesbourg).
