About 7 Sorrows Rosaries
Chaplets
Even though they are called rosaries, they are actually chaplets. They have a different number and grouping of beads and the prayers are not the same. There are medals for each of the sorrowful events in the life of our Blessed Mother.
History
The devotion of the Seven Dolors of Mary originated with the Servite Order in the 13th Century. It is known as the Seven Sorrows Rosary (or Chaplet), the Little Rosary of the 7 Dolors of Mary, and The Servite Rosary. St. Alphonsus Liguori wrote prayerful reflections for each of the groups of beads.
Indulgenced Devotion
Three popes granted it indulgences: Pope Benedict XII, Pope Clement XII, and Pope Clement XIII. Click on the photo to learn more about indulgences.

CREDITS
The LOGO image of Our Lady of Grace is original artwork by Martin Lariviere in 2009. We have the artist’s permission (my son). It is our exclusive trademark logo image.
A beautifully photographed sky by Donald Tong inspired the website’s colour scheme. Cropped portions of it are the background for the footer Bible verse. He shared it as a free download on pexels.com.
Raphael painted The Sistine Madonna circa (1513-1514). We made circular cut-outs from the original image.

IN REVIEW
The title makes it confusing. Since the 7 Sorrows Rosary has different bead groupings and prayers than that of the rosary, it is a chaplet. It is too difficult to pray it on a regular rosary.
The 7 Sorrows Rosary is a Catholic devotion originating in the 13th Century with the Servite Order. Three popes have granted it indulgences, or special blessings.
