Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
About the Glory Be Prayer
It is most well-known by the first words of the prayer. The Glory Be is also the doxology (Greek) or the Gloria Patri (Latin). This popular Catholic prayer is an expression of glory or praise. We say the prayer at the end of each group of Hail Mary beads on our rosary. It is also part of other Catholic devotions. For example, it is the repeated prayer in The Little Flower Rosary and The St. Patrick Chaplet. In the Liturgy of the Hours, the last part of the prayer is: …as it was in the beginning, is now and will be forever. Amen.
The Glory Be is one way to glorify God in the Blessed Trinity. We focus on God to give Him glory and praise. Other ways to exalt God are: at Mass, the sacraments, Eucharistic Adoration, and music. We can also express our love and praise for God in the way we live our daily lives.
