More Details
The Come Holy Spirit Prayer Card is .016 inches thick (or about .4mm). This sturdy card is in a convenient business card size.
We chose an image of a dove since it has biblical origins. In the description of the Baptism of Jesus, three of the Gospels describe the Holy Spirit descending like a dove. (cf. Matthew 3:16, Mark 1:10, and Luke 3:22).
The prayer came from song lyrics written in the 9th Century (Veni Creator Spiritus). The original author is unknown. (It could be a monk, Pope Innocent III, King Robert of France, St. Gregory the Great, or Cardinal Stephen Langton, the Archbishop of Canterbury). Around the year 1200, the hymn first appeared in liturgical books. It has been part of the Pentecost liturgy (after the second reading) for many years.

About Prayer
What is Prayer?
Prayer is our connection with God. When we pray, we put our needs in the hands of God. It is not demanding. We trust His divine will because He knows what our hearts need most. We thank Him for our blessings and His help. With our entire being, we praise Him.
Praying from the Heart
When we pray from the heart, we pay attention to the words of the prayers. That means not rushing. We can also add moments of silent reflection with an awareness of God’s presence. Prayer is about spending time with God.

A beautifully photographed sky by Donald Tong inspired the website’s colour scheme. Cropped portions of it are the background for the footer Bible verse. He shared it as a free download on pexels.com.
Raphael painted The Sistine Madonna circa (1513-1514). We made circular cut-outs from the original image.
