St. Louis de Montfort
St. Louis de Montfort encouraged the use of the chaplet. It was originally The Little Crown of Twelve Stars of the Blessed Virgin Mary, prayed by saints like St. John Berchmans. St. Louis added to each Hail Mary one of the praises of the Blessed Virgin with the added phrase, “Rejoice, O Virgin Mary…” He gave this prayer to the members of his order (The Montfort Fathers and the Daughters of Wisdom) as their morning prayer. The prayers are written in a book he authored, True Devotion to Mary. It is on page 200 in my copy. He also wrote Total Consecration to Jesus Through Mary as a guide to help those preparing for this special devotion. The credits for the books are listed further down the page.
St. John Paul II
Several Popes have loved this prayer. For example, St. John Paul II said, “It is from Montfort that I have taken my motto, Totus Tuus.”
The Chaplet arrived a couple of days ago. I held on to the chaplet at my dental cleaning yesterday. It arrived at the perfect time! -VR
About Our Handmade Chaplets
Packaging
Each chaplet comes with a sturdy prayer card. It has the full text of the prayers and explains which prayers to say on which beads.
Suggestion
It is a good idea to store your chaplets and prayer cards together. Since chaplets have unique bead groupings and prayers, the prayer card and chaplet need to stay together so that you can continue to use them.
