We have lots of cord options for No. 9 and No. 36 sizes. This nylon cord has 3 strands tightly twisted together.
No. 36 Twisted Cord Options
We use this cord to make Rope Rosaries and some Glow-in-the-Dark Rosaries. The sizes are the same even though the photos vary. Digital images may differ slightly, depending on your monitor

About Cord (Fishing Net Twine) Options
Fishing Net Twine
The idea of twisting fibers together originated circa 2800 BC. Twisted cords made with grass, flax, or cotton were used for fishing nets.
Twisted twine was the original type of cord used for strung rosaries. The first twine made with nylon was in the early 1950s. It is the same cord used to make fishing nets. The photo has an example of a rosary knotted with fishing net twine.

Benefits of the Nylon Material
This type of cord has tightly twisted 3-ply nylon yarn. Nylon has the highest strength and shock absorbency of any synthetic rope. It is weather-resistant, resists fraying, feels smooth, and holds its knots well. This same cord is used for fishing nets.
How the Brands Compare
Sea King Twine is our original stock. They dyed each strand before winding them together, resulting in a solid colour. In 2005, we bought our last shipment of cord from them just before the factory closed.
Today, factories twist together white nylon. Then, they dye the twisted cord. The dye goes most of the way through. With this cord, the light core sometimes shows through as we knot it.

Number 9 twine is 1.18mm thick with an 84-pound strength. It has 3 strands of cord tightly twisted together. This same sturdy cord is knotted to make fishing nets.
Number 36 twine is 2mm thick with a 300-pound strength. It has 3 strands of nylon cord tightly twisted together.
