More Details
Our Immaculate Heart Wall Rosary can hang by a prayer table in your home. It could also decorate a focal wall in a school or church. These types of rosaries are not a new idea. Catholics have displayed them in their homes since about the 15th Century.
Yet these large rosaries are more than mere decorations to remind us of our faith. They can be helpful, for example, when teaching the rosary or leading groups in prayer. They can also be handy to keep on a table for a daily rosary.
Components
We built it with heavy-duty wire and chain to hold the weight of its components. The center medal has a glass dome, and the Crucifix is also very heavy. We attached them with wrapped bows. The European, nontoxic, designer-quality wood beads are stained and sealed for colour durability.
The 10mm beads are large enough to give the rosary balance. It is sturdy, both for display and for prayer.
Praying the Mysteries of the Rosary
The Mysteries of the Rosary add new layers of meaning to this prayer.
20 Mysteries
The Mysteries of the Rosary help us walk with Jesus and Mary through the various events of their lives.
They are divided into 4 categories: Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, and Glorious. Each of these categories has 5 mysteries, the same as the number of decades or groups of beads.
How to Pray the Mysteries
At the beginning of each decade, the mystery is announced, followed by a short pause for reflection. For those who pray a scriptural rosary, a Bible passage is read before each bead.
Which Days?
Traditionally, we meditate on specific mysteries of the rosary on different weekdays. The reason for this is so that we pray all of them at least once per week.
- SUNDAY – Glorious
- MONDAY – Joyful
- TUESDAY – Sorrowful
- WEDNESDAY – Glorious
- THURSDAY – Luminous
- FRIDAY – Sorrowful
- SATURDAY – Joyful
