Leather Cleaner
If necessary, first clean the surface with a leather cleaner.
- Put a small amount onto a soft cloth and rub it in circular motions.
- Wipe off any excess cleaner.
Leather Conditioner
Using a leather conditioner protects, softens, and extends the life of the leather. It adds a barrier between the surface of the leather and anything that comes in contact with it.
- Shake the bottle.
- Dab the conditioner onto a soft cloth and apply a thin coat onto the surface of the leather. Wipe off the excess.
- Let it dry overnight. Buff in the morning.
At-Home Cleaning
You can safely clean your rosary at home. You will need an anti-tarnish silver polishing cloth and disposable gloves. Everyday items are a soft, dry toothbrush and a piece of lint-free T-shirt fabric or something similar.
- Once the gloves are on, rub the surface of the rosary metals with the polishing cloth. The removed tarnish shows up as black marks on the material.
- The next step is to clean it thoroughly with a dry toothbrush in the crevices.
- Finally, you can give it one last cleanup with a soft, dry cloth.
TIP
Taking good care of your leather will help keep it in good condition. A rosary case is a good investment because it will help protect your rosary from getting tangled, damaged, or tarnished.
