Holy Spirit Novena: Ninth Day
SATURDAY
Begin with the Sign of the Cross.
The Gifts of the Holy Spirit
The gifts of the Holy Spirit perfect the supernatural virtues by enabling us to practice them with greater docility to divine inspiration. As we grow in the knowledge and love of God under the direction of the Holy Spirit, our service becomes more sincere and generous, and the practice of virtue more perfect.
Such acts of virtue leave the heart filled with joy and consolation and are known as Fruits of the Holy Spirit. These Fruits render the practice of virtue more attractive and become a powerful incentive for still greater efforts in the service of God, to serve Who is to reign.
Prayer
Come, O Divine Spirit, fill my heart with Your heavenly fruits, Your charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, and temperance, that I may never weary in the service of God, but by continued faithful submission to Your inspiration may merit to be united eternally with You in the love of the Father and the Son. Amen.
Tip
You can start on the second bead of a rosary decade to count the final prayers.
- Our Father
- Hail Mary
- Glory Be (7 times)
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
VERSION 1:
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among* women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
*or “amongst”
VERSION 2:
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

The LOGO image of Our Lady of Grace is original artwork by Martin Lariviere, 2009, and used with the artist’s permission (my son). It is our exclusive trademark logo image.
A beautifully photographed sky by Donald Tong inspired the website’s colour scheme. Cropped portions of it are the background for the footer Bible verse. He shared it as a free download on pexels.com.
Raphael painted The Sistine Madonna circa (1513-1514). We made circular cut-outs from the original image.
Juan Bautista Maino painted a scene from Pentecost circa 1615 to 1620.
We cropped a Pompeo Batoni painting of the Holy Spirit from circa 1740 to 1743.
