Find Inspiration in the Words of Pope Francis (2020)
We believe that prayer is the root of our faith because it is our connection with God. It is for this reason that we have collected some of Pope Francis’s notes on prayer. His insights can help improve our prayer lives. We added links to the original articles.
What Happens When We Pray
Prayer Notes Post #4: November 29, 2020
On November 25, 2020, during his weekly General Audience, Pope Francis shared more insights about prayer.
When we pray, God opens our eyes, renews, and changes our hearts, heals our wounds, and grants us the grace we need.
Our day is complete when it includes the prayer of the Rosary. (Our Lady of Grace Rosaries)
Pope Francis Explains Why Prayer is so Important
Prayer Notes Post #3: November 11, 2020
Someone said to me, “You talk too much about prayer. Not necessary.”
Yes, it’s necessary. Because if we don’t pray, we won’t have the strength to move forward in life.
Prayer is like the oxygen of life.
Prayer is attracting upon us the presence of the Holy Spirit who always leads us forward.
This is why I talk so much about prayer.
“The teaching of the Gospel is clear,” says Pope Francis: “We need to pray always, even when everything seems vain.” Even when it is difficult to pray, and even when it seems God is not listening, it is necessary to persevere in prayer.” (Pope Francis at his Audience on November 11, 2020).
Pray continually. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
The Rosary is the Most Beautiful Prayer We can Offer
Prayer Notes Post #2: October 20, 2020
During his first General Audience in October of 2020, the month traditionally dedicated to the rosary, Pope Francis invited us to pray the rosary and carry it in our hands or pockets. The rosary, he explained, is the most beautiful prayer that we can offer to the Virgin Mary and it is a weapon that protects us.
Carrying a blessed rosary with us makes it handy when we either find or make the time to pray.

New Papal Letter to Encourage the Prayer of the Rosary
Prayer Notes Post #1: May 1, 2020
Contemplating together the face of Christ with the heart of Mary, as we pray the Rosary, will make us more united as a spiritual family and will help us to overcome this trial. I will pray for you, especially for those who are suffering the most. Please, pray for me. (Pope Francis, Apr. 25, 2020)
Month of May
The month of May is approaching a time when the People of God express with particular intensity their love and devotion for the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is traditional in this month to pray the Rosary at home within the family. Restrictions of the pandemic have made us come to appreciate all the more this “family” aspect. (Pope Francis, Apr. 25, 2020)
Pray the Rosary at Home
Pope Francis wanted to encourage everyone to rediscover the beauty of praying the Rosary at home in the month of May… “I am also providing two prayers to Our Lady that you can recite at the end of the Rosary, and that I myself will pray in the month of May, in spiritual union with all of you. He included them with his letter so that they would be available to everyone.
