More Details
Our Purple Swarovski Crystal Rosary has sterling-silver-filled wire and chain. Sterling Silver Filled wire has an extra thick layer of .925 Sterling Silver bonded to a brass core. It will not flake off like plated material. When you look at the cut ends, there is no visible brass. It is an affordable alternative to Sterling Silver.
The Crucifix and center medal are cast in sterling silver. The back of the Crucifix has a lightly-engraved name J. Vanden Heuvel. Since it was cast from a vintage piece, it can either be the name of the designer or the original owner’s name. We only had the one Our Lady of Sorrows set in stock.
Are "Austrian Crystals" the Same as Swarovski Crystals?
We now refer to Swarovski Crystals as Austrian Crystals. It’s the result of a new copyright issue.
From the beginning, we identified the Swarovski Crystal beads on our rosaries. In 2021, without warning, they added a copyright to their brand name. Now, we have to sell the same rosaries under a different title. We chose Austrian Crystal since they are made in Austria. The rosary beads haven’t changed. They are still the same genuine Swarovski Crystal beads as before.
TIP: Wire-wrapped rosaries will not come unhooked. The design will sometimes result in a temporary kink. There are two ways to resolve it: a gentle shake; or lifting and turning the section by hand.
Swarovski Crystals: The Beads with a Heavenly Sparkle
What Makes Them Sparkle?
Swarovski Crystals glisten and catch the eye in the stores as we walk past them. Although their lighting helps, it takes very little light can make these beads throw off flashes of light.
The End of an Era
In 2021, they announced a major plan to restructure their company. Selling their beads to crafters has become a thing of the past. Their beads are no longer readily available to artisans.
Will There Be More of These Rosaries?
You can still look forward to more of our rosaries made with these beads. They will be available for as long as our supplies last. However, we will now sell them as Austrian Crystal rosaries.

A beautifully photographed sky by Donald Tong inspired the website’s colour scheme. Cropped portions of it are the background for the footer Bible verse. He shared it as a free download on pexels.com.
Raphael painted The Sistine Madonna circa (1513-1514). We made circular cut-outs from the original image.
