Saint Joseph Novena- DAY 8
DAY EIGHT: March 17, April 29, or anytime
Begin with the Sign of the Cross.
OPENING PRAYER
LET US PRAY,
O God, in Your ineffable providence, You were pleased to choose Blessed Joseph to be the spouse of Your most holy Mother, grant, we beg You, that we may be worthy to have him for our intercessor in heaven whom on earth we venerate as our protector; You Who live and reign forever and ever.
Amen

REFLECTION:
1.
Wonderful things have happened in the long annals of mankind, but none have been more wonderful than what occurred in the little house and shop of Joseph in Nazareth.
2.
The earnings of a laborer provided the food for the Creator of heaven and earth.
3.
Into the little carpenter shop comes the young Jesus, apprenticed to a trade.
4.
Joseph guides the hands that guided the course of the stars; he teaches the maker of sun, stars, and planets the craft of making tables and chairs for peasants and yokes for oxen.
5.
The Trinity looks down to the lovely trinity of earth – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit beautifully mirrored in Joseph, Mary, and Jesus.
6.
Modern Christian homes receive their design and pattern from this model. Modern Catholic marriage is here given its lovely example.
7.
The hearts of Mary and Joseph create a union close and dear and intimate and utterly beautiful; together they live and think and plan and work for the Child, who has been given into their keeping.
8.
Theirs was a beautiful family.
9.
Remembering the happiness of Joseph in Nazareth, we pray:
ST. JOSEPH MEMORARE
Remember, O most pure spouse of Mary, ever Virgin, my loving protector, Saint Joseph, that no one ever had recourse to your protection or asked your aid without obtaining relief.
Confiding, therefore, in your goodness, I come before you and humbly implore you. Despise not my petitions, Foster-father of the Redeemer, but graciously receive them.
Closing Prayers
God our Father and ruler of the universe, in every age You call human beings to develop and use their gifts for the good of others. With Saint Joseph as our example and guide, help us to do the work You have asked and come to the rewards You have promised.
Inspired by the example of Saint Joseph, may our lives manifest Your love, and may we rejoice forever in Your peace.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
