St. Andrew Christmas Novena

St. Andrew Christmas Novena

(November 30 to December 24)

The oil painting on obsidian of the Nativity, by Bartolome Esteban Murillo, circa 1665 to 1670, captures the loving protection of Saint Joseph in the dark of night. We used this beautiful painting for the Year of Saint Joseph to introduce the indulgences.

Follow along with novena prayers starting on the Feast of St. Andrew (November 30) and leading up to Christmas Eve. It is a way to prepare our hearts during Advent to celebrate Jesus’ Birth.

St. Andrew Christmas Novena

Prayer

Hail and blessed be the hour and moment

in which the Son of God was born

of the most pure Blessed Virgin Mary,

at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold.

In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, O my God,

to hear my prayer and grant my desires

through the merits of our Saviour Jesus Christ,

and His Blessed Mother.

Amen

How to Pray It

We say the prayer 15 times.
