The Paperclip Trick
What I Discovered
I discovered this helpful tip in an old copy of Good Housekeeping magazine. In case you collect them, it was in the December 2013 issue on page 131.
You need only one item, a colour-coated paper clip. It is the most flexible. The plain metal ones broke when I tried to do the first step.
Prepare the Paperclip
- Unfold the paperclip into an S-shape.
- Hook one end of the bent paperclip onto the jump ring and hold the other end in your palm under your fingers.
This Part Takes a Little Practice
- Hold onto the clasp and guide the bracelet around the back of your hand.
- Finally, hook it onto the jump ring to attach the bracelet.
*TIP: Follow the steps in reverse to remove your bracelet.
How to Measure for a Good Fit
How to Measure Your Wrist
Using a soft measuring tape, measure around your wrist at the wrist bone. Or, you can use a string or ribbon and then place it against a flat ruler for the size. When you measure for the finished fit, leave a little wiggle room.
We measure our bracelets the same way. We provide an estimated wrist size for a comfortable fit.
What is a Comfortable Fit?
A bracelet should not be so tight that the beads leave indent marks on your skin. If it dangles too much, it could get caught on something and break. It should be loose enough to feel like a comfortable fit.
Comparing to Your Favourite Bracelet
To find a comparable fit, hold your arm up with the bracelet on. Measure your arm at that spot to get a fit with the precise wiggle room you like.
