More Details
The St. Juan Diego Chaplet has wire-wrapped Job’s Tears beads. The medal is now sold out. We will update the photo soon. It is a prayer for his intercession. We can pray it as a novena on the nine days leading up to his feast day (December 9th) or any time.
What happened near the hill of Tepeyac?
Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to St. Juan Diego as the pregnant Mother of God in December 1531. The bishop asked him for proof of authenticity. Our Lady directed St. Juan Diego to flowers unseasonably in bloom. She re-arranged them on his cloak or tilma and told him to take them to the bishop. When he opened his mantle, the flowers fell to the floor, revealing an imprint of her image on the tilma. Pope John Paul II canonized him in 2002. He is the first Catholic indigenous saint in the Americas.
The Tilma
The tilma shows no signs of deterioration after more than 400 years. Its coarse cactus fiber usually disintegrates after 20 to 60 years. The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City has the tilma on display. It is a place of pilgrimage, with an average of 10 million pilgrims every year.
History of the 9-Bead Chaplet Design
According to The Raccolta (A Manual of Indulgences), the 9-bead chaplet is from at least the late 18th Century. They have 3 groups of 3 beads with a saint medal or Crucifix in a closed loop or stretched out in a strand. At first, convents and monasteries made rosaries and these chaplets. Over the centuries, they have become more readily available.
The Prayers
On the medal or Crucifix, we ask for the intercession of a particular saint. Then, we pray one Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be on each group of beads. There is a partial indulgence when we say the sets of prayers this way.

About Our Handmade Chaplets
Packaging
Each chaplet comes with a sturdy prayer card. It has the full text of the prayers and explains which prayers to say on which beads.
Suggestion
It is a good idea to store your chaplets and prayer cards together. Since chaplets have unique bead groupings and prayers, the prayer card and chaplet need to stay together so that you can continue to use them.
