The St. Philomena Prayer Card is .016 inches thick (or about .4mm). This sturdy card is in a convenient business card size.
The prayer goes with the St. Philomena Cord (bracelet or full-length). Saint Jean Vianney (The Cure of Ars) suggested the pious practice of wearing the Cord of St. Philomena. When we pray for her protection, we can count on her intercession. When we wear it in her honour, we have her aid for defense against impurity, lack of faith, and sickness.
It is an official Catholic devotion approved by Pope Leo XIII in 1893. There are special graces (indulgences) attached to it. A priest can give it a formal blessing, as found in the Roman Ritual. Her feast day is August 11th.
About the Full-Length Cord & the Bracelet
We sell both the bracelets and the full-length St. Philomena Cords. Both have classic red and white nylon in a tight weave with two knots. The knots represent her virginity and martyrdom. Each strand has an 85-pound resistance strength. A prayer card is included with your cord purchase or you can buy them separately.

When we pray from the heart, we pay attention to the words of the prayers. That means not rushing. We can also add moments of silent reflection with an awareness of God’s presence. Prayer is about spending time with God.
