Where Do They Get Their Sparkle?
A Beautiful Tapestry
What makes these remarkable rosary beads sparkle? The different angles of the polished beads create delightful flashes of light. They remind us of the beautiful, capricious tapestry of the Northern Lights. They add greens, reds, pinks, purples, blues, aquas, and yellows to the quiet evening sky.
Aurora Borealis
In 1956, both Swarovski and Dior first coined the term Aurora Borealis in a unique context. They described the effect of a thin layer of gold vacuum-coated onto the surface of crystal beads. Fire-polished Czech glass beads soon found a way to create a similar effect. The rosary in the photo has Swarovski Crystal beads.

A beautifully photographed sky by Donald Tong inspired the website’s colour scheme. Cropped portions of it are the background for the footer Bible verse. He shared it as a free download on pexels.com.
Raphael painted The Sistine Madonna circa (1513-1514). We made circular cut-outs from the original image.
