More Details

The Chaplet of the 10 Evangelical Virtues of the Blessed Virgin Mary is wire-wrapped. This technique adds more space between the beads and makes them easier to manage.

St. Jeanne de Valois composed the chaplet in the late 15th Century. She based the chaplet on the Rule of 10 Virtues by Blessed Gilbert-Nicolas OFM.

The Virtues in the Gospels

The Blessed Virgin Mary is a source of inspiration for us. She shows us how to follow her Son more closely. Her virtues are in the Gospels:
  1. Most Pure (Matthew 1:18, 20, 23; Luke 1:27, 34)
  2. Most Prudent (Luke 2:19, 51)
  3. Most Humble (Luke 1:48)
  4. Most Faithful (Luke 1:45; John 2:5)
  5. Most Devout (Luke 1:46–7; Acts 1:14)
  6. Most Obedient (Luke 1:38; 2:21-2, 27)
  7. Most Poor (Luke 2:7)
  8. Most Patient (John 19:25)
  9. Most Merciful (Luke 1: 39,56)
  10. Most Sorrowful (Luke 2:35)

How to Pray the Chaplet

We add one virtue to each Hail Mary prayer. For example,

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.  Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, most pure, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.  Amen

About Our Handmade Chaplets

Packaging

Each chaplet comes with a sturdy prayer card.  It explains which prayers to say on which beads.

Suggestion

It is a good idea to store your chaplets and prayer cards together.  Since chaplets have unique bead groupings and prayers, the prayer card and chaplet need to stay together so that you can continue to use them.
