St. Faustina's Way of the Cross
STATION 7: Jesus Falls for the Second time
We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You (or: We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You.)
BECAUSE BY YOUR HOLY CROSS, YOU HAVE REDEEMED THE WORLD.
A Reading from the Book of the Prophet Isaiah
(Isaiah 53:4)
Jesus: (celebrant reads)
The cause of your falls is that you rely too much upon yourself and too little on Me. But let this not sadden you so much. You are dealing with the God of mercy (1488). Know that of yourself you can do nothing (639). Without special help from Me, you are not even capable of accepting My graces (738).
St. Faustina: (all read)
Jesus, do not leave me alone in suffering. You know, Lord, how weak I am. I am an abyss of wretchedness, I am nothingness itself; so what will be so strange if You leave me alone and I fall? (1489). So You, Jesus, must stand by me constantly like a mother by a helpless child — and even more so (264).
All Read:
May Your grace assist me, Lord, that I may not keep falling continuously into the same faults; and when I fall, help me to rise and glorify Your mercy.
Celebrant Reads:
You, who suffered wounds for us,
All Read:
Christ Jesus, have mercy on us.
Stabat Mater
For the sins of His own nation,
Saw Him hang in desolation,
’til His Spirit forth He sent.

A beautifully photographed sky by Donald Tong inspired the website’s colour scheme. Cropped portions of it are the background for the footer Bible verse. He shared it as a free download on pexels.com.
Raphael painted The Sistine Madonna circa (1513-1514). We made circular cut-outs from the original image.
We chose a Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo painting of one of the falls of Jesus. It is oil on canvas and located in the Church of San Polo in Venice. He painted it circa 1745 to 1749.
Lo Spasimo di Sicilia is by the artist Raffaello Saanzio da Urbino (also known as Raphael). He painted it in 1517.
