Bead Sizes
5mm Beads
5mm beads with classic links work best for children or small hands. It can be awkward for larger hands to grasp small beads with classic links. If we wire-wrap them, it adds more space between the beads and they are easier to manage during prayer.
6mm Beads
6mm beads are an all-around comfortable size for everyone. It is the size we choose for most of our rosaries and other beaded items.
7mm or 8mm Beads
7mm or 8mm beads are ideal for larger or tired hands. They can add weight to the rosary, but the beads are easier to grasp.
10mm or 12mm Beads
10mm or 12mm bead rosaries work well for prayer tables, wall decorations, or going for a walk. We usually make them with Paracord and Euro Wood beads.
Bead Spacing & More
Bead Spacing
Another prayer comfort factor is the space between the beads. We add a thumb space to our strung rosaries to give the Hail Mary beads room to slide along the cord.
Wire wrapping adds more space between the beads on our wire rosaries than classic links. That way, it is easier for any size of hands to hold onto smaller beads.
Our Father Beads
We wire-wrap and cap the Our Father beads on most of our rosaries. A different shape, size, or colour can further distinguish them. Our goal is to make them easier to notice during prayer, even with closed eyes.
